Appointed to the Board in 1988, appointed Chairman in December 2011.

Geoff Ricketts has extensive experience in New Zealand and Australia as a commercial lawyer (partner Russell McVeagh) and subsequently a company Director.

He is currently Chairman of Lion Nathan National Foods Limited and a Director of the listed companies Spotless Group Limited, Suncorp Group Limited and Heartland New Zealand Limited.  He is also a Director of a number of private companies.

In 2008 Geoff was named the Deloitte / New Zealand Management Magazine Chairperson of the Year.

Geoff has a strong service ethic including being Chairman of the University of Auckland Foundation, Chair of the University of Auckland “Leading the Way” Campaign, a member of the Auckland Catholic Diocese Advisory Board, Chairman of New Zealand Catholic Education Office Limited and a director of the Centre for Independent Studies Limited.

With his wife, Geoff is a strong supporter of the Arts and charitable activities.

Malcolm Whyte has had management and ownership roles in property development and furniture manufacturing companies and in the oil industry with Europa and BP, culminating as a Branch Manager.

Malcolm is a Director of KPS Limited (formerly Karitane Products Society) and has active interests in a number of private investments.   He is a member of the Electoral College of the Plunket Foundation.

Past Directorships include Todd Motors and Todd Bros (1982-87); Wellington Racing Club (Vice President and Chairman of the Superannuation Fund), Rhino Golf; and Chairman of Prime Finance, part of the Allied Farmers Group.

Paul Baines was with Jarden & Co and Credit Suisse First Boston NZ (sharebroker and investment banker) for over 20 years until the early 1990s.  During this time he held leadership positions in research and investment banking and was CEO from 1987 to 1993. Since then, Paul has been a professional Director.  

He is currently Chair of Todd Family Office Limited and on the Board of Chamber Music New Zealand, New Zealand School of Music, the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research and The New Zealand Treasury.

Paul has extensive experience as a Director.   He has been a Board member of Barnardos NZ (Chair), Comalco NZ, EDS NZ, Fletcher Building (Audit Committee Chair), Gough Gough and Hamer, New Zealand Post (Audit Committee Chair), the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Telecom NZ (Audit Committee Chair), Tower Funds Management (Chair) and Wrightson.

Tom is currently Chairman of GNS Science Ltd and a Director of Standards New Zealand, PowerNet Ltd and Invercargill Electricity Limited.  

Tom had a distinguished career in New Zealand and internationally with the Rio Tinto Group of Companies, including Managing Director of Comalco’s operations in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom, and Global Head of Research and Technology for Rio Tinto Alcan based in Montreal.  He also worked in Australia, Chile and Venezuela with Rio. He has held many previous governance roles including Chairman of the New Zealand Aluminium Smelters Ltd joint venture between Comalco and Sumitomo of Japan, Chairman of the Anglesey Aluminium Smelters Ltd joint venture between Rio Tinto and Kaiser Aluminum of the USA, Member of the Court of the University of Wales, Trustee of the Comalco NZ Retirement Fund and Trustee of the Police and Community Trust (UK).

Now retired from Rio Tinto, Tom splits his time between homes in Queenstown and Invercargill.

Andrew Reid has had a 20-year career in aviation in New Zealand as a commercial helicopter pilot and instructor and as the owner/operator of an aviation business. Prior to his aviation interests Andrew was a Paris-based photojournalist and specialist war photographer.

Andrew is the Chairman of International Strategic Development Solutions, a programme management and capacity development business focused on developing economies. He is also Chairman of the Todd Family Council.

His personal interests include sailing, skiing, geopolitics, history and literature.

Andrew is a member of the Institute of Directors of New Zealand.

Henry Tait has gained a wide range of experience in the investment banking sector with Fay Richwhite in New Zealand and CS First Boston in Australia, where he specialised in financial institutions' restructuring, and investment in a wide range of industries.

Currently, Henry is principal of Tingwall Capital Ltd which provides capital for companies, products and management.

He is Chairman of Fresh to Go (food processor), Connovation (conservation) and Snowplanet (leisure, CEO 2010/11), a Director of the Sparkbox Venture Group (a leading angel investment and advisory group) and Deputy Chair of Todd Family Office Limited.  He also has investments in forestry, insurance, consumer brands and football.

Mike Todd has had a diversified career mainly in marketing.  He holds a business degree in marketing from Victoria University. His early career was in advertising in New Zealand followed by a period in the UK as marketing manager for a group of four companies involved in industrial and domestic heating.

Mike joined Todd Motors in 1979, and held various product development and sales positions before becoming Divisional Manager, Marketing.  After the sale of Todd Motors in 1987, he undertook partnership ventures in hospitality and property management. 

He is currently a Director of G E Stock Investments Ltd and associated Dolbel companies with interests in forestry, farming and commercial property. Over the last 20 years he has directed the development of the farm station and vineyard.

Mike was the initial Chair of the Todd Family Council.

Bruce’s background is in the upstream oil and gas industry, with more than 30 years of experience in technical, commercial and executive roles in Australia, Europe, the United States and Central America.

He spent his early career with BHP Petroleum and Shell, where he trained as a petroleum engineer. He then progressed through a range of technical and commercial roles with Triton Energy subsidiaries Australian Hydrocarbons Ltd, Crusader Ltd and Triton, France.

Bruce joined Santos Ltd in 2000 where he held the positions of Vice-President, Strategic Projects and President of Santos USA. Other executive roles have included being CEO of Delhi Petroleum Pty Ltd, and Managing Director of AWE Ltd, an Australian oil and gas production company.

From 1997 to 1999 Bruce was a Director of Cue Energy Resources, a company in which Todd holds a 27% stake.

Bruce is an Australian citizen and is based in Adelaide. His interests include medieval history and languages.



Emma Stein

Emma has worked in the international energy and aggregates sectors, in operational and general management roles. She has held board roles in downstream energy, upstream exploration, mineral resources, industrial services, tertiary education and the infrastructure sector.

Emma worked for the global aggregates company Redland Plc before becoming the Managing Director of Gaz de France’s UK downstream energy business.

After moving to Australia in 2003 she took on a number of directorships and currently serves on the boards of TransPacific Industries, Alumina Ltd, Programmed Group, Clough Ltd, University of Western Sydney and the Duet Group, and is a federal representative on the Ministerial Council for Energy Selection Panel.

Emma is a UK citizen and permanent Australian resident, and resides in the Sydney region.
